Love Month Hacks

4 Feb

I’m sure people with “love life” are excited for this month. Month of February is pretty much every lovebirds’ favorite month (haha just saying). You know, to those who are too shy to express their adoration, affection or sweet words towards their special someone on a daily basis can use this love month as an excuse to do that. How about this, I’ll give you some tips about how to do it aside from the traditional roses and chocolates? These tips are actually very applicable even for anniversaries or birthdays.

  1. Write A Love Letter: Don’t be a loser by creating it using MS Word and send it via email or ecards! This blessed love letter should be written on a piece of paper with a pen and should not be less than 500 words and handwritten (she/he won’t even care if your penmanship sucks), as long as it is from your very core – your heart. Personally, this is something I would really love to receive more than bouquets.
  2. Plan A Date: It doesn’t have to a dinner in a fancy restaurant, and you should know that by now…lol. I highly suggest these 3 creative kind of dates: playing kites at a windy spot uphill, maybe picnic somewhere with a nice view, or fishing at a nice lake close-by . Just make sure you prepare your drinks and pica-pica to make it more enjoyable. And, if you guys have kids: gotta beg someone (you can trust maybe a family member) to babysit them for a few hours. haha!
  3. DIY Gifts: I love to give my other half a handcrafted gifts on his special day and I can see that he appreciate it. DYIs takes effort, I mean lots of it, palpak or dili (successful or not) he/she will be so impressed with you. Your DIY project could be anything! Just an idea, it’s better if you can create something that she/he likes by using youtube to guide you; it gives you step by step instructions about that certain project you have in mind.
  4. Prepare A Meal: This idea also falls into the ‘Do-It-Yourself’ category, which requires effort and creativity. Again sweetheart, don’t worry about how to do it when there’s tons of youtube or tutorials you can find online. You may cook her favorite dish or try a different cuisine, it doesn’t matter because she/he will love it unless he/she is a real jerk. lol the keyword here my (hopeless romantic) friend: it’s the thought that matters.
  5. Do House Chores: This idea is best for a husband who wishes to please his wife, for single men try doing it for your mom. I know it’s (kinda) wrong for me to say this but most men don’t do house chores that much: such as doing the laundry, ironing and folding clean laundry, sweeping and mopping the floor, lampaso (waxing the floor) etc. Excuse me if I sound like stereotyping or being sexist here LOL, but again, let me emphasize “that most men don’t do house chores that much..” because most of their time- spent working outside the house: providing the needs of their families (of course!rofl). And so…for a change, let her relax and you do the dirty work. Giving her the break that she deserves after all the hard work and stress. As a mom, I personally would appreciate it more than a box of fattening chocolates.
  6. Surprise Her/Him a Gift: This is a-no-brainer idea but always the sweetest and the most tricky one. Downside of it: Could be expensive and a potential disaster if you are not clear about what she/he wants. So basically the rules: Number one, If money is not a question here, then let’s move on to the next condition which is – you must know the details, the exact thing that she/he had in mind.
  7. Sing A KaraOke: Yabag(out of tune) or not, don’t worry because either way…she/he is your number one fan. If you want to sing it live, try searching  karaoke version of the song you want to sing in youtube if you don’t have the real karaoke setup. Another creative way to deliver your love song is through making use of the popular app like Smule. This app will allow you to record a video of you singing it ‘karaoke style’ of course but it’s quirky and so much fun! Then you can send it to her via email or with a little love note, upload the video on facebook and tag her/him.
